Palaces and pavilions in Istanbul will now be open to visitors at night.

As part of the implementation that began at some archaeological sites in the Aegean, historical palaces, pavilions, and gardens such as Topkapı Palace, Beykoz Mecidiye Pavilion, Aynalıkavak Pavilion, and Ihlamur Pavilion, which are affiliated with the National Palaces, will be open for night visits on certain nights.

The archaeological sites that have been open for night visits until now include Ephesus, Aspendos, Patara, Side, and Hierapolis. Additionally, Galata Tower in Istanbul is open until 11:00 PM, Hagia Sophia Museum and Experience, Bodrum Underwater Archaeology Museum, and Akdamar Memorial Museum are open until 10:00 PM, and Istanbul Archaeology Museums and Maiden’s Tower are open until 9:00 PM.

Topkapı Palace will welcome guests once a week at night with its night museum initiative starting from June 29.

According to a report by Murat Özetkin from Türkiye Newspaper, Topkapı Palace will be open for visits with special tours on Saturday nights between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Groups of 250 people will be able to tour the five-century-old complex on Saturday nights.

Especially due to the demand from foreign tourists, the night museum initiative will allow one thousand people to visit Topkapı Palace each night.

During the night visits, only certain sections of the palace will be open to visitors.

According to the information in Murat Özetkin’s report from Türkiye Newspaper, the tours will be conducted under the supervision of palace staff and special guides. The Bab-ı Hümayun (Imperial Gate), Sacred Relics, Harem Apartments, and Treasury Ward will be visited, while sections like the Tower of Justice will not be visited at night for security reasons.

Turkish citizens who want to visit Topkapı Palace at night will pay 1,000 TL, while foreign tourists will pay 5,000 TL.
