Xiaomi Unveils SU7: A Game-Changer in the Electric Car Market

Xiaomi has unveiled its long-awaited electric sedan, the SU7 (Speed Ultra).

During the presentation, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun expressed the company’s ambition to become one of the top 5 automobile manufacturers globally within the next 15–20 years.

Jun previously mentioned that the SU7 aims to incorporate driving mechanics similar to the Porsche Taycan Turbo and smart features comparable to the Tesla Model S.

The model will be available in three variants — V6, V6S, and V8, with the V8 version scheduled for production in 2025. While the V6 model generates 400 Nm of torque, the V6S produces 500 Nm.

Specific pricing based on the model and battery options hasn’t been finalized yet, but the starting price for the basic model is anticipated to be around $20,000.

Teaming up with Chinese CATL for battery technology, Xiaomi promises a range of 1200 km with a 150 kWh battery pack and 1000 km with a 132 kWh version.

The interior of the car boasts impressive technological features, including a 16.1-inch multimedia screen delivering 3K resolution and a sizable 56-inch head-up display projected onto the windshield.

Xiaomi’s entry into the electric car market with the SU7 signifies a bold step toward revolutionizing the industry. With promising specifications, advanced technology integration, and a visionary approach toward becoming a major automotive player globally, Xiaomi’s ambition to redefine electric vehicles seems to hold considerable potential. The SU7’s blend of performance, range, and innovative features sets the stage for a compelling future in the world of electric cars. #xiaomi #SU7 #technews
